Jazz the American Art Form
Join Les DeMerle, Jazz Drummer and Amelia Island Jazz Festival Founder & Artistic Director, formerly with Harry James, Frank Sinatra and the Manhattan Transfer at the Amelia Island Museum of History.
Les will talk about the history and the future of Jazz from Louis Armstrong to Wynton Maralis. ย He will also present a special Amelia Island Jazz Festival Video with highlights from the 2016 and 2017 headliners. Attendees will be treated with a special guest performance by the 2017 Amelia Island Jazz Festival Scholarship winner: 18 year old saxophonist Skyler Nolan and the Next Generation Jazz Band.
This special event will take place Friday, July 21, 2017 at 6 pm. ย Seating is first-come / first-served. ย Cost at the door is $10 for Amelia Island Museum of History Members and $15 for Nonmembers. ย The Amelia Island Museum of History is located at 233 S. 3rd Street in Historic Fernandina Beach, FL.
