William (Bill) Hazlett
TROMBONE
William C. Hazlett is an accomplished band director and trombonist with a long-standing dedication to music education and performance. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is the son of Charles G. and Patricia M. Hazlett. Mr. Hazlett earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Florida State University and went on to receive a Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of North Carolina in Jacksonville. His teaching career began in 1989 as Director of Bands at Arlington Middle School in Jacksonville, a position he held until 2000. Since then, he has served as Director of Bands at Providence School in Jacksonville, where he continues to inspire young musicians. In addition to his educational work, Mr. Hazlett is an accomplished performer. He has been the trombonist for the St. John River City Band in Jacksonville since 1989 and a member of the Premiere Brass Quintet since 1995. He also served as the orchestra director at Arlington Baptist Church from 1994 to 1996 and has led the bass ensemble at Arlington Methodist Church since 2002. Recognized by Marquis Who's Who as a noteworthy band director and trombonist, Mr. Hazlett is a proud member of the Florida Bandmasters Association. Outside of his musical endeavors, he enjoys hiking, scuba diving, fishing, skiing, and reading.
