Ayanna Nelson is an 18- year-old Jazz and Classical Double Bass player and Jazz Vocalist. Ayanna was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Ayanna was born into a family of singers and introduced to her instrument (The Double Bass) at a young age. She has worked and performed with renowned musicians such as Rodney Witaker, Marcus Printup, and Alexa Tarantino. She found her passion for Jazz Vocal in her Senior Year of high school at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. With that, she has been nominated as a YoungArts winner in Jazz Vocal. Ayanna’s plans after High School are to attend Jacksonville University for her Bachelor of Music in Jazz & Commercial Music.
