Skyler Nolanย is a recent graduate from Douglas Anderson School of the arts and has held the 1st chair tenor saxophone chair for the 2 years he attended. Heโs been a featured soloist with both the Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble 1 at The Mid-West Clinic in Chicago, Jazz Education Network in New Orleans, and in the Savannah Swing Central Competition where JE1 received 1st place. Skylerโs also had amazing accomplishments over his 6 years of playing, such as making the FMEA All State classical bands in both 8th and 10th grade, as well as the All State Jazz Band in 11th grade on Baritone saxophone and again in 12th making 1st chair tenor. Heโs played with such artists as Jamison Ross, Theo Croker, Bob Reynolds, Mindi Abair, Ulysses Owens Jr. Les DeMerle and Rodney Whitiker. Also, heโs won the Jacksonville Jazz Festival Youth Competition, The Ritz Theaters โPuttin on the Ritzโ Amateur Night semi-finals, and was also one of two saxophonists selected for GRAMMY Camp LA 2016 hosted by the GRAMMY Foundation. Skyler received a full ride to Jacksonville University to major in Jazz Studies and Commercial Music to study under incredible saxophone player John Ricci.
