Wyatt Bruno

Wyatt Bruno is a recent graduate from the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts where he was a part of the Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble 1. In the fall, he will be a student at the University of North Florida where he will be majoring in Jazz Studies and Performance. Wyatt has several amazing accomplishments over his seven short years of playing, such as, making the FMEA All-State Classical Band as a Sophomore, and being the Lead Trumpet player for the All-State Jazz Band during his Junior year.
Wyatt performed at the 72nd Annual Mid-West Clinic, the Jacksonville University Jazz Festival, the Amelia Island Jazz Festival, the Music for All Festival and the Basically Basie Festival, where he was named the Future Rising Star. He was also an integral part in helping Douglas Anderson Jazz Ensemble 1 win the 42nd annual Downbeat Large Jazz Ensemble Award. Wyatt has played with renowned artists such as John Fedchock, Ernie Watts, Dave Steinmeyer, and Les DeMerle. He has also played gigs around town with numerous bands, professional musicians, college musicians, graduates, and faculty.
Wyatt has been heavily influenced by the styles of the big bands such as Count Basie, Stan Kenton, and Woody Herman. He has also been heavily influenced by the technique and mastery of trumpeters such as Bill Chase, Snooky Young, Maynard Ferguson, and Doc Severinsen.
Studying under his mentor and friend John Reid, Wyatt seeks to master all facets of the trumpet and leave a lasting impact on the jazz and trumpet community.
